Also this will help to ensure no one messes up your Trade or Moonshine deliveries as well. I've noticed a significant change back to quiet. I'm on Xbox and surprised you are having such a problem with griefers these days. No more random explosions or people spawning in treasure chests or legendary animals, randomly catching on fire etc. From what I've read here in my time playing RDO, Rockstar altered the way the P2P servers work in RDO so that it's almost impossible to get into, and remain in, a solo public lobby. Otherwise, still use that method and play RDO lone-wolf all you wish without being harassed by anyone, period. In order for Friends to play in the same session, they need to use the same method and then you all get together via Steam or Discord or whatever and choose a password, then include this password in the STARTUP.META file as using the same pw is what will dictate you all being in the same RDO session or not. The only way to do text chat would be to add a player via SocialClub, when/if added, then send them a PM via the SocialClub overlay.īut yes basically anyone looking to play RDO should be using the Private Session method linked in the video above. Only way to communicate in-game is with Voice.
RDR2 doesn't have any in-game text chat at all, so not sure where people get that idea from. Anything beyond that was more/less security related updates. RDR2 has not had really any patch updates since around mid-2021 or so.
